Ronda Rousey is a busy woman these days. The 28-year-old-year-old UFC champ is training for a highly anticipated battle with Holly Holm on January 2.
While Ronda is known for bashing her opponents inside of the Octagon and trashing them with slick talk outside of it, there is a softie beneath her tough exterior. Rousey has accepted an invitation to go to the Marine Corporal Ball with North Carolina Marine Jarrod Haschert.
Haschert asked her out on a date in a Facebook post and hit the jackpot when the post went viral and was viewed over 5 million times. It is not just the guys that are becoming fixated with the undefeated Ronda Rousey either.

In Australia, the Ronda Rousey effect seems to be taking hold.
According to an article over on The Courier Mail, women in the country have taken to boxing en masse.
In one state, 3.9% of the ladies box, which is a sizable amount of women. That’s a total of 76,000 when tallied up.
The numbers are encouraging, but Rousey’s upcoming opponent, Holly Holm believes there’s a long way to go, especially in the United States.
“I’m super blessed and super proud of everything that I got to experience in boxing,” Holm said during a recent media call. “But it is sad that there isn’t enough following behind it. If you’re a female boxer, you’re in it truly because you just love it and I feel like there should be more following behind it.”
On the world stage, Women’s Boxing received a major nod after a successful introduction in the 2012 Olympic games. And next year, the emerging support will be featured in the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
All of this is to build momentum for the sport to be showcased in the 2020 Olympics in China.
Regardless of the outcome, Rousey and Holm will raise awareness about the emerging sport when the square off at the top of 2016. Rousey will defend her bantamweight title against Hold during UFC 195 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on January 2.
CollegeHipHop.com caught up with UFC/MMA veteran Din Thomas, who currently serves as an owner/trainer for American Top Team in Coconut Creek, Florida. Thomas is currently training a variety of top fighters in UFC, Bellator and other leagues.
