These Are The Most Popular Players In Sports, Ranked By Fans

If you want to know the world’s most celebrated athletes are, look no further.

At least for now, LOL.

While you were busy rooting for your favorite fans and teams, 120 Sports and Ranker.com were occupied collecting data to figure out what athlete has the most pull, regarding their importance, marketing power, and overall relevance.
The result is 120 Sports’ Millennials’ Athlete Index, which aims to determine what athlete is the most significant to the NFL, the NBA, UFC, the NHL, MLB, The PGA, WTA, and NASCAR.
Ranker.com took a poll that ran from December 3, 2015, and January 15, 2016. Users cast both positive and negative votes on the rank of athletes while Ranker.com and 120 Sports designed an algorithm to balance various dimensions of agreement, popularity, and positivity.
The data revealed some interesting finds. The NFL had the most athletes overall on the list while the MLB landed four players in the Top 10. It wasn’t too bad for the ladies. Five female athletes made the index, and two of them were in the Top 20.
