Nelly recently sat down with Complex Live to talk about why he’s so successful and how two of his biggest records never happened.
“Crossing over has allowed me to be the first artist ever to have a number one song on all formats of music. I had number ones on hip-hop, R&B, pop, and country.”
Nelly revealed that his label was nervous about his album Nellyville because of the “sophomore jinx” and Nelly knew he “needed a fuse to set the bomb off.”
He called Pharrell and they did “Hot In Herre” together and he was able to add “Dilemma” with the help of his sister who advised him to get Kelly on the record.
