How Doodling As A Student Turned Into Big Biz For Coolman Coffeedan

Viral digital creator/artist and Forbes 30 Under 30 alum Danny Casale (aka Coolman Coffeedan) first set the internet ablaze when his cartoon titled “Snakes Have Legs” accumulated tens of millions of views nearly overnight.

Casale has since turned his humorous and crudely drawn cartoons into a profession, with an internet following well into the millions. 


Danny grew up getting in trouble for doodling during class. He didn’t see himself as an artist by any means but loved the process of getting the cartoonish visions out of his head and onto paper.

As an adult, he’s taken those doodles and turned them into wildly popular animations that bring a dose of positivity to millions of timelines.


Last December, under his new Coolman’s Universe banner, he released 10,000 one-of-a-kind NFT’s of his most beloved digital character Spesh, which sold out nearly immediately to about 5,000 people which sold out in under 3 minutes.

Danny and his Coolman’s Universe team are now launching several different NFT ventures including: Coolman’s Universe new “BABIES” NFT drop, which will be a Coolman’s Universe holders-only airdrop happening this month, in June.

The “BABIES” collection will feature current Coolman creatures in “baby” form.

The Beatclub Collection artists includes Danny Casale, who is creating a unique NFT to be put to one of Timbaland’s beats.

Coolman’s Universe also just participated in a Web3 initiative Reli3f to raise funds has for Ukrainian aid efforts -Reli3f, a humanitarian initiative birthed upon the innate artistic commitment to narrate stories in times of hardship, launched its second nonfungible token (NFT) collection last month, raising over $300,000 for recognized Ukrainian charities and taking their total to over $1.5 million.



Drop 2 featured Reli3f team member Aleksandra Artamonovskaja, alongside the creator of the Coolman Universe, Danny Casale and music icon Sia under her alias Bianca ’de Medici, among many others.

In addition to his new NFT venture and the launch of the Coolman’s Universe, Danny also released his first book late last year,UR SPECIAL: Advice for Humans from Coolman Coffeedan (TarcherPerigee) which is on sale now. 

Each chapter introduces a new friend and a new hardship, offering the perfect pick-me-up for whatever has you down. Tackling topics from loneliness and self-confidence, Danny’s animations will leave you feeling brighter and lighter. 

In addition to the new book; Danny has recently collaborated with Bollywood superstar Deepika Padukone about mental health (10mil views across our pages) and did a collaboration with Diplo. He also has some exciting new apparel drops on the horizon.

Beyond the web, Danny has also done incredible installations in Times Square on the Jumbotron and completed murals in the hippest parts of LA on Abbot Kinney & Melrose Ave to Williamsburg in Brooklyn.
