Gangsta-House Music Has Arrived And The Sons Of Eazy-E and Dr. Dre Want To Pioneer It

House Music is defined as a style of EDM, which was born in the early 1980s in Chicago.

Shortly after its appearance on the music scene (thanks to inspiration from Afrika Bambaataa’s “Planet Rock”), House was fused with many kinds of music and began to spread all over the world. Acid-House, Deep-House, Tech-House, and Jazz-House are just a few of the well-known subgenres that House has spawned.
In 1989, The Jungle Brothers landed the first hit Hip-House record with the classic/club stable “Girl I’ll House You.”

The sons of Eric “Eazy-E” Wright and Andre “Dr. Dre” Young are following their fathers’ trailblazing gangsta approach to Hip-Hop. Lil Eazy, E3 and Curtis Young have remixed their dads’ classic song “Straight Outta Compton” as the Sons of NWA.
Sons of NWA is creating records for the emerging genre of Gangsta-House, which combines elements of West Coast Gangsta Rap with the aesthetics of House Music. Sons of NWA is one of the few groups from LA currently producing records to service the Gangsta-House community.
“It’s about keeping people aware of where the legacy of this music started and, as his [Eazy-E] son, to keep his music going with this new genre of music called Gangster-House,” Lil Eazy-E explained.
Their “Straight Outta Compton” remix was recorded at Snoop Dogg’s Doggystyle Studio, under direction from legends like Battlecat, Kurupt, and Daz Dillinger.
The remix is taken from Serious Pimp Records’ upcoming release Westside Gangsta House, a new compilation showcasing various West Coast rappers over G-House themed productions.
Serious Pimp is a management company and record label based in Orange County, California. The owner of the company Damian Kutzner wants his label to be among the first to popularize the genre.
There are already labels like Sleazy G, Cuff and Bunny Tiger Records, which collectively release music by acts like London’s Vanilla Ace, French duo Amine Edge & DANCE and Sirus Hood of Los Angeles. However, Serious Pimp’s Kutzner aims to use his connections out West to bring credibility and authenticity to the Gangsta-House style.
“Our roots are the Original OG’s of Gangster Music, the great artists who started Gangster Rap like NWA, Snoop Dogg, Tha Dogg Pound, DPG, Warren G, Too Short, E40 — all of them from our backyard here in California,” said Kutzner. “Our music is unique because it has the style and feel of the Original West Coast Gangster artists channeled through the creativity of today’s top Hip-Hop artists.”
Westside Gangsta House is due in stores and online later this year. Click here to buy the “Straight Outta Compton” remix by The Sons of NWA.
