Common Drops By Harlem School With $10,000 and A Smile

Common was in New York last week, just to surprise a group of students with some cold hard cash.
The rapper stopped by the Renaissance School of the Arts in Harlem, where he forked over $10,000 to help their teachers buy supplies for their eager students.
Common also brought along his mother Dr. Mahalia Hines, who is also a member of the Chicago Board of Education.
The donation was fostered through Common’s partnership with AdoptAClassroom.org and Burlington Stores, in an effort to keep students enthusiastic about school, and life in general.
