Donald Glover is a man of many talents. He has been dominating the entertainment industry with his successful FX show “Atlanta,” his incredible music video for “This Is America,” a standout performance on Saturday Night Live, and the upcoming Star Wars movie “Solo.” But now, can we expect to see him in a potential sequel for the Marvel film “Black Panther”? Anything is possible, and in fact, it seems very likely.
According to reports from Metro, Black Panther director and co-writer Ryan Coogler is attempting to recruit Glover as a villain for Black Panther 2.
“Ryan Coogler is currently mapping out Black Panther’s sequel and has written in a number of new characters that movie-goers will be introduced to when it premieres,” the source told Metro. “One of those characters, if he gets his wish, will be played by Childish Gambino. Nothing is set in stone but ‘informal talks’ [are happening] between Ryan, Gambino and reps from Marvel and Disney to see if they can make it happen.
“They’re still yet to decide if Michael B. Jordan will return in some capacity but if he doesn’t it’s likely Gambino may play some kind of villain.”
Glover has appeared before as a Marvel villain in Spiderman: Homecoming, playing Aaron Davis. However, this would seemingly be a much larger role. As for whether Jordan would be in the film, if you saw the first Black Panther film it seems unlikely.
