Ice Cube was on to something when he created his ultra-successful movie franchise “Barbershop.”
Cube’s hilarious movie about the happenings inside of his local shop may have inadvertently delivered a healthy message to millions of black men.
A new study conducted by The New England Journal of Medicine has revealed some interesting results about the barbershop, and just how important it is to African-American men.
“Among black male barbershop patrons with uncontrolled hypertension, health promotion by barbers resulted in larger blood-pressure reduction when coupled with medication management in barbershops by specialty-trained pharmacists,” the report found.
