Music icon Rick Rubin is a multiple Grammy-award winning producer and the co-founder of Def Jam Records.
He has worked with a wide array of top artists, including Aerosmith, Adele, the Beastie Boys, Dixie Chicks, Jay-Z, Johnny Cash, Justin Timberlake, Lady Gaga, Led Zeppelin, Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, Run DMC and many others.
He is widely credited with introducing hip-hop to mainstream audiences.
Rick has teamed with Cadence13, a leading podcast media company, today announced an exclusive partnership with Pushkin Industries, Inc.
Pushkin is a new audio company co-founded by Jacob Weisberg, the former chairman and editor-in-chief of the Slate Group and a leader in the world of digital journalism, and Malcolm Gladwell, award-winning writer for The New Yorker and bestselling author.
The pair are hosting a new podcast called “Broken Record,” which they have labeled as the “liner notes for the digital age.”
The podcast will feature digressions, arguments, back-stories, and random things to disagree with about music.
Pushkin also has podcasts from Malcolm Gladwell’s “Revisionist History,” and “Against the Rules,” a new podcast hosted by bestselling author Michael Lewis.
“Malcolm Gladwell, Michael Lewis, and Rick Rubin are three of the leading minds of our time— true innovators whose impact and influence shape our culture on a daily basis,” said Chris Corcoran, Chief Content Officer, Cadence13. “Their powerful and thought-provoking voices will enhance and strengthen our already robust, diverse roster of premium content.”
The new podcasts will start rolling out on January 1, 2019.
