Advertisers are rushing to spend their money on Super Bowl 50, Which will air this Sunday on CBS.
The network is rolling in the dough. In fact, over $377 million is already been spent on ads this year. You could add up all of the Super Bowl ad spends from the 1960s to the 1980s ($299 million).
This year, experts in the know said that we can expect a lot more comedy in this year’s crop of advertisements.
“The last couple of years, it felt that marketers were getting a little heavy—whether they were being sentimental or preachy. We expect things will swing back to the lighter side this year with more comedy and celebrities. And we’re already seeing a lot of new brands shelling out for ads. Sadly, though, we might not get as many puppies or horses as in years past. And we also just might see more marketers keep their ads under wraps until the game.” -Ad Age Editor Ken Wheaton.
