Chick-fil-A’s religious philosophies seem to be a fit for Grammy Award winning Christian rapper Lecrae.
He recently linked with the brand to honor some local students and businesses. Lecrae appeared at Atlanta’s Fox Theater on September 4, where he presented grants to various activists for their work and local communities around the country.
Lecrae hosted the inaugural True Inspiration Awards, which honored the winners of hundreds of thousand dollars worth of grants being awarded to emerging leaders.
Also acknowledged were youth entrepreneurs and educators who are improving the teaching and learning fields.
Like Lecrae, Chick-fil-A is known to work Christian philosophy into their business practices. The founders of Chick-fil-A even believe that closing on Sundays is part of the reason for the brand’s success.
The company has been embroiled in controversy since 2012. That is when CEO, Dan T. Carthy came out against same-sex marriage. Most recently, several Denver city council members blocked the fast food chain’s attempt to open a restaurant in the Denver International Airport.
The city council members felt that Chick-fil-A’s presence in the airport would be damaging to the city’s reputation.
